Starting off November right aboard the Lady Pamela II!
Captain Paul and Darin left Shallow Harbor with Keith from Nova Scotia for an all day adventure of fishing off Fort Lauderdale. The sailfish have been around, so the LP II headed straight to the marina to buy live goggs. They were ready to go as they headed North out of Port Everglades. Trolling to Lighthouse Point was successful, they landed 3 kings in the 10 lb range. Boca Raton was next on their list. They popped the kites with live goggs and caught nice gaffer size mahi-mahi. No sailfish bite, yet. Captain Paul headed back towards Lauderdale and made a stop at the stinkhole. They put the kites back up in hopes of a sail. Before they knew it, he ate the left short and fell off. Within seconds he swam to the right, ate the bait and started jumping everywhere! After a nice show and good fight, he was a big one, 90″ overall. A wreck was nearby, so Captain Paul made a quick drop and the rod instantly bent over. After a 30 minute battle, Keith landed himself his first Amberjack. What a great day on the water and a mixed bag of fish.
