The Cobia Fishing red hot and The NEw Boat

February 8, 2013

Today was the first time this year that cobias have taken our baits. Cobia migrate south in search of warm water, and are often found swimming with manta rays, but today we just stumbled across some while trolling. The Lady Pamela II was working its’ way north about 10 miles on an all day charter and we had caught some nice kingfish. Then we hooked a nice cobia. These fish often run in small schools and we soon hooked up three more. These were nice fish weighing up to 45 lbs. The kings we nice sized too, with one weighing over 20 lbs. Sure was a nice way to start the weekend!
