Kite Fishing on the Edge of the Reef with a Rippin' North Current in Ft Lauderdale

February 11th, 2010
John and his buddies traveled from Ontario, Canada to soak up the sun in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. They were looking to head offshore to Swordfish grounds but the weather wasn’t agreeing; it was way too rough so we decided kite fishing was our next best option. We hit the blue edge on the reef with live goggle eyes in 150 – 180 ft of water. Conditions were perfect to hook up with a fish quickly. It wasn’t long before John battled his first Sailfish and a few King Mackerel for good measure.
