Game Sharks & Sailfish in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

February 28th, 2010
Alex hooked up!
Alex and his wife traveled from Germany to join the Lady Pamela II for a deep sea fishing trip. Alex is an avid hunter in Germany and wanted to target big fish. We headed offshore to 350 ft of water in search of a Game Shark or the Atlantic Sailfish. Once we reached our destination, Mike flew two kites with live goggle eyes, a big top bait, a middle bait sitting at 150 ft and a bloody Kingfish bait situated on the bottom. An hour passed before anybody was interested in our spread. Once we got the bite, Alex didn’t hesitate and jumped right in the chair. The rod doubled over and the fight began. Alex was suspended over the water, looking down at a 7 foot silhouette.

After Alex won the fight with the Hammerhead Shark, we relocated to the buoy in 150 ft of water for a Sailfish bite. “Right short! Fish on!” Mike yelled and Alex went in the chair for round two. Alex definitely went home with a sore arm and a great story.
