Fort Lauderdale Sailfish Fishing – SOLID bite!

January 14th, 2010
Today, David from Wyoming and Kenneth from Nebraska came fishing aboard the Lady Pamela IV with Captain Paul and myself. We stopped for live goggle eyes before our 6-hour adventure offshore began. I was in the tower riding the edge when I saw the first Sailfish of the day. I slowed the boat down and we put the kites up immediately. Kenneth hooked Sailfish #1 and won the battle in the fighting chair. The fish wasn’t cooperating easily, but we did manage to get great pictures. David was ready for round two; it was his turn to land a Sailfish. We relocated and set up the kites off the bow of an anchored ship. The bite was nearly instant. Captain Paul cleared the cockpit as David geared up. David’s Sailfish put up a 25-minute fight and we were able to tag and release. We finished off the fishing trip catching two Bonito fish on the troll. Live bait was the way to go today.
Pictures to come.

Tight Lines!
