Wahoo bite on FIRE offshore Fort Lauderdale

October 17th, 2008
Jeremy and his 8 buddies fished with the Lady Pamela II and the Frequent Flyer II this morning. Being that they were a group of 8, two boats were required. We ran out to the bouy to catch some live bait in case the mahi – mahi were around. Both boats headed north trolling. The Lady Pamela II landed a few kings and a cero mackerel. Wreck fishing was in our future. On the first wreck we hit, we got a huge bite. Paul called dibs on the fighting chair, so he hopped in and reeled in a nice size amberjack. Trolling to the next wreck, the LP II caught a 16 lb mahi – mahi. Meanwhile, Captain Darin on the Frequent Flyer II, came across a 20 ft tree floating offshore. He called us up, we ran over there and ran into a school of wahoo.

The LP II caught a total of 7 Wahoo, 2 Kingfish, 1 Dolphin, a nice size AJ and a Cero Mackerel. The FF II had a total of 4 Wahoo, a few kings, 2 AJ’s, and 7 nice size Dolphin. The Wahoo bite was on fire!
