Fort Lauderdale Drift Fishing

September 14, 2013

Today was a good Saturday in September fishing day for the Lady Pamela II. Captain Chris and Darin did some kite fishing today and caught a few kingfish using live pilchards and googleyes. A big blackfin tuna then grabbed a bait for some added excitement. This was some pretty good action but the trip turned from good to spectacular when a double header of sailfish swam up to the baits. The crew succeeded in getting one of the two billfish hooked up and shortly thereafter a nice 80 inch fish was brought behind the boat for tagging and release. Nice!

Fort Lauderdale Driftfishing

The driftfishing aboard the Lady Pamela III has been very productive these last few weeks. On any given day we’ve been catching gray triggerfish, grunts, yellowtail snappers, and vermillion snappers on the Ft. Lauderdale reefs, in waters ranging from 60-90 feet deep. We are also landing some black and red groupers that tend to show up once the snapper start biting. We caught one 20 lb black that ate one of the vermillion snappers that our angler was reeling in! Some of our anglers have even had success running surface flatlines to catch kingfish during the drifts.

TESTIMONIALS

Awesome Trip!

I took my 3 kids out with Captain David and Crew for a day of fishing in Miami. Upon arriving we were greeted by a beautiful marina and the captain was ready to go. We had the opportunity to catch some bait and the mate through the cast net a few times while my kids helped load them into the baitwell. We were fishing within 10 minutes and the action was great. I was just happy to share this with my kids, but Captain David went beyond my expectations. I highly recommend you book Lady Pamela. We will be back!
